Because it is stable down to 4 ohms, multiple speakers can be connected to each channel without the need for impedance-matching volume controls. ELAN designed the amplifier for the custom installer, with 12 inputs that can be configured for mono, stereo, bussed mono, or bussed stereo. ELAN also eliminated the need for extra patch cables and Y-cords through two universal stereo buss inputs with buffered outputs. The D1200 is the only digital amp with anti-clipping features, which are provided by ELAN's patent-pending ACEô (Automatic Clip Eliminatorô) technology. ACE is a microprocessor-controlled dynamic leveling circuit that is said to eliminate clipping without the typical audio degradation of traditional compressor-based clipping circuits.""We expect the price, power and efficiency to appeal to our dealers and their clients,"" Starkey said.
