Yamaha's Flagship DVD Changer Adds New Custom Installation Features

Yamaha Electronics Corporation has introduced custom installation features to its five-disc flagship DVD changer. The DVD-C940 provides Super Audio CD (SACD) playback capability, progressive scan with DCDiô processing by Faroudja, and custom installation features such as RS-232C ports, extended IR codes, and IR ports. The DVD-C940 has an exclusive SACD decoder and uses 108 MHz/10-bit video DACs, and offers precision bass management.The DVD-C940 includes Yamaha's patented PlayXchange, which allows the user to access and change from one to four of its loaded discs while the fifth is playing. When both music and movie discs are loaded together, an ""Intelligent Play"" feature enables either music or movies to be played exclusively. The DVD-C940 has the ability to play SACD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD+RW/R, DVD-Video, and MP3s (multi-session CDs).
