Yamaha Adds New CinemaStation Home Theatre-In-A-Box Systems

Yamaha has announced the addition of several new DVD Home CinemaStations to its line of home theatre-in-a-box systems, the DVX-S200P, DVX-S120P, and DVX-S120.The DVX-S200P is actually an SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc) player and progressive scan DVD-Video player with an embedded 100-watt x 5 amplifier (DVX-S120P offers 55 watts x 5) with built-in DolbyÆ Digital, Dolby Pro LogicÆ II, and DTSÆ decoders. Also included is Yamaha's proprietary Quad-Field Cinema DSP. The DVX-S200P and DVX-S120P come with two tower/on-wall-type speakers, two surround sound speakers and stands, a center channel, and a separate 120-watt (DVX-S120P offers 100 watts) powered subwoofer. The DVX-S120 comes with a five-satellite speaker package, plus a separate 100-watt powered subwoofer. All models come with a preset remote control with 4 DSP program buttons, direct satellite/center/subwoofer volume control, and centered DVD control buttons. The built-in receivers for the DVX-S200P and DVX-S120P are able to deliver sophisticated internal surround decoding and DSP processing enabled by the YSS-938, a 32-bit floating-point LSI (with 21 surround sound modes). Both receivers also feature one-touch Cinema DSP, Silent Cinema for 5.1-channel listening using headphones, and Night Listening. The built-in progressive scan DVD player incorporates a 10-bit video DAC and 192 kHz/24-bit audio DACs, and can play DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, SACD (DVX-S200P only), CD audio, CD-R/RW, MP3, VCD, SVCD, and Picture CD.The receiver/DVD component of the DVX-S200P, the DVR-S200, is also sold separately and has an MSRP of $599.
