Samsung Electronics America, Inc. debuted its new DLP home theatre front projector, the SP-H700A, at the 2003 CEDIA EXPO. Designed and developed in concert with Joe Kane Productions, Samsung's DLP home theatre projector utilizes Texas Instruments' DLP HD2 technology. The Samsung SP-H700A home theatre HD2 DLP projector features Samsung's CCRô auto-calibration corrector that facilitates a more accurate and faster calibration using the new Digital Video Essentialsô software package. In addition, the projector accurately reproduces the color fidelity specified for high-definition in specifications by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) for program production. The SP-H700A incorporates the first broadcast format changer for accepting NTSC, EBU, and ATSC signals. In another first, the SP-H700A is claimed to be the quietest projector available on the market.The SP-H700A features a DVI interface with HDCP for a pure digital connection. Preliminary specifications for the SP-H700A indicate a choice of preset operating modes with varying brightness and contrast ratios. The SP-H700A also includes a manual zoom lens and user-adjustable color temperature. Employing Samsung's proprietary DNIeô (Digital Natural Image engine), the SP-H700A offers enhanced detail, color, and noise reduction. Features include the new Correct Color Reproduction system that addresses color accuracy and offers simpler calibration and setup of the projector.
