New HDTV Solutions from Gefen Expand High-Definition VideoSystems

Gefen will demonstrate four new types of Ex-tend-it HDTV solutions that support HDTV systems at the 2004 CES:HDTV SwitchersTwo new HDTV Switchers allow up to four DVD players, satellite set-top boxes, and DVI-equipped computers, to connect to one high-definition display. The selected video source is routed though the HDTV Switcher to the display. Both switchers create an environment in which a single HDTV display can function as a television, video player, and computer display. Designed to eliminate the unplugging, replugging, and rewiring of video sources, the HDTV Switcher selects sources in a behind-the-scenes transition. Each is compatible with high-definition projectors, plasmas, and displays, and is HDCP compliant with support for 480p, 720p, and 1080i HDTV resolution formats (up to 1920x1200 for computer displays). The HDTV Switcher also comes with an IR remote control, DVI cables, and a power supply. HDTV ExtenderGefen?s Ex-tend-it DVI-1000 HD sends HDTV signals up to 1,640 feet from the video source using custom-cut fiber optics cabling. It operates through sender and receiver units, which connect to the source, and the extended HDTV display, then links them together with fiber optics and multi-mode cables. The unit's external power supply can be connected at the source or the extended display. Convenient HDTV Extender Kits are available that include the DVI-1000 HD plus cabling available in 60-, 100-, 150-, or 300-foot increments. The DVI-1000 HD is HDCP compliant and will work with all DVI and HDMI devices, plasma, and digital HDTVs as well as satellite set-top boxes and DVD players that offer HDTV. It supports 480p, 720p and 1080i HDTV resolutions and up to 1920x1200 for computer displays. HDTV SplitterA new Ex-tend-it 2:8 HDTV Splitter enables up to two video sources to output eight video signals for multiple, simultaneous viewing on high-definition displays. DVI computers, DVD players, and satellite set-top boxes can all be used with the HDTV Splitter, which is HDCP compliant. It's an expandable unit that can be stacked to create multiple distributions up to 256. Either source can be amplified to the eight displays. The unit is equipped with an auto sensing feature to intuit the active source at all times. It supports 480p, 720p and 1080i HDTV resolutions and up to 1920x1200 for computer displays.HDTV Extreme CablesGefen's HDTV Extreme Cables promote reproduction of high-definition imagery at even great distances. HDTV Extreme Cables are unique in that they integrate the TMDS and DDC signals into the same cable, streamlining HDTV installations in home theater, entertainment, pro-studio, and other presentation-type environments. They are designed for high performance extension and installation applications. Currently available in pre-cut lengths of 6-, 15-, 33-, 45-, 60-, 100-, 150-, and 300-feet, HDTV Extreme Cables use male DVI connectors on both ends and require a minimum 1.5-inch conduit.
