RussoundÆ, a manufacturer of audio/video products for the residential systems and connectivity markets, will debut their new Atmosphere Seriesô custom loudspeakers at the 2004 CES. Atmosphere draws upon the Advantage Seriesô loudspeakers by emulating its key design elements yet delivering them at affordable price points. The six new models, will be priced from $150 each to $375 per pair (MSRP). The line, crafted by Russound designers, employs a new driver cone technology, and addresses diverse installation requirements that range from very small to extremely large rooms and for both in-wall and in-ceiling applications. All six Atmosphere models are slated for shipment by March 2004. According to Ian Popken, Russoundís Director of Loudspeaker Development, ìOur team utilized state-of-the-art solid-modeling CAD (Computer Aided Design) together with integrated FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to design a new injection molded cone technology. While many other custom speakers on the market use commonly available poly cones, our new structural rib design provides a cone that is both lighter and stiffer. The result is improved efficiency, enhanced bass performance and greater musical detail through better transient response.î For more information, please visit www.russound.com.
