DTS, Genelec, SoundField, And Steinberg To Present Surround Music Production Seminars At AES Berlin

Four of the leading industry players in surround sound technology present a series of seminars exploring the techniques and possibilities of multi-channel audio for music. A series of seminars at the AES Convention, Messe Berlin 08-11 May, are being presented by DTS, Genelec, Soundfield and Steinberg, with special guest appearances by award-winning mix engineer Nathaniel Kunkel, who has worked with Sting, Crosby-Nash, Robbie Williams and Lyle Lovett. Seminars will be held in Hall 4 Seminar Room and will commence at 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4:00 PM each day. Presentations will be given by Gerben Van Duyl from DTS, and Rodney Orpheus and Jeff Levison from DTS Entertainment, on various aspects of content delivery for music, including surround formats and technologies. Andrew Goldberg of Genelec will present on the subject of speaker placement and room design for professional surround sound production environments. Pieter Schillebeeckx from SoundField will present a technical overview of the company's multi-capsule microphone systems and how these are used in recording and post-production environments. Martin Stahl from Steinberg will be highlighting the ease with which you can achieve high quality results when editing and mixing for surround productions using a computer based DAW such as Steinberg's industry leading Nuendo.
