Antex Receivers To Deliver XMís Superior Sound In Three Separate Listening Zones

26-May-04

XM Satellite Radio, and Antex Electronics announced an agreement under which Antex will develop and market high-end satellite radio products for receiving XMís critically-acclaimed programming. The first product developed under the agreement, the XM-3000 multizone satellite receiver, will be introduced into the Antex TriplePlay line of multizone receivers and will be ready for market later this year. ìAntex is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-end audio products, and weíre glad to be working with them to develop new products for listening to XMís 120-plus channels of commercial-free music and premier talk programming,î said Phil Whitworth, XM Director of Product Marketing. ìThe XM-3000 is a strong response to the growing consumer demand for XM service throughout the home and provides an excellent platform for delivering XM into a variety of listening spaces.î ìWeíre pleased to put our expertise in satellite audio product development to work with XM,î said David Foley, Antex president. ìWe have been pioneers in developing commercial and consumer satellite receivers for digital audio services, and the opportunities presented by this partnership will continue to keep us at the forefront in both the consumer and commercial market segments.î The XM-3000 receiver enables listeners to receive up to three different XM Radio channels and distribute them to different rooms, or zones, simultaneously. To accomplish this, the XM-3000 receives XM programming via a single antenna. This input is split internally into three tuner modules, each containing the complete XM programming lineup. Users will have three ways to control each of the three tuners: Directly through the buttons on the front panel; via an infrared wireless remote control (included); or through wired or wireless controllers located throughout the house. Individual subscriptions are required for each of the three tuners.
