These now famous artists: Steve Miller, Boz Skaggs, and Ben Sidran were once known as The Ardells. Boz and Steve both moved to the East Coast and started the Steve Miller Band. Ben Sidran came into his own with an eclectic mix of genres including jazz, pop, and blues.Sidran is genuinely multi-talented: successful singer, keyboard player and composer, a doctor of music and philosophy, author (îBlack Talkî), TV and radio presenter ñ and last but by no means least founder, boss and producer of his own label ñ Go Jazz.Ben Sidran has also proved his credentials as a producer for artists such as Mose Allison, Diana Ross, Tony Williams and Michel Petrucciani. He worked as a keyboard-player for Tuck and Patti, Jon Hendricks and Gene Clarke and has released nearly two dozen solo albums since 1971 ñ all filled with cool, swinging songs which cannot be classified, but instead take on a new category as ìclassic Sidranî. In 2000, he was nominated for a Grammy and his journalistic experiences have included writing for Rolling Stone and Japanís Swing Journal.
