Music Video Distributors and Inakustik are pleased to announce the home viewing release of Shakatak ñIn Concert for North America distribution on DVD.The British group Shakatak play an elegant, sophisticated and unashamedly laid-back type of jazz-funk similar to that made popular by American bands of the seventies. Named after and old record shop in Soho, the band was created in 1980 consisting of Bill Sharpe and Nigel Wright on keyboards, Keith Winter on guitar, Steve Underwood on bass, and Roger Odell on drums. Their relaxed, catchy danceable sound soon attracted a large following, and their innovative approach and funky beat gained Shakatak cult status. Having more then a dozen charting songs in the last twenty years, the band has traveled around the world, and played with people like jazz veteran Dizzy Gillespie, U2, and Duran Duran. Their tours have taken them to places such as Moscow, Tokyo, South Africa, and more. Shakatak has developed into a serious band that has single-mindedly pursued their artistic ambitions, but never forgot to groove. This DVD is proof of that.
