Music Video Distributors and Season of Mist are pleased to announce the home viewing release of Nocturnus ñ A Farewell To Planet Earth for North American distribution on DVD.Nocturnus has been creating horror-inspiring Death Metal since their 1988 release of ìThe Science of Horrorî, a four-song demo, which led to international acclaim. They radically changed the extreme metal scene by adding keyboards to their music. Membership solidified into Sean Mc Nenney and Mike Davis on guitars, Louis Panzer on keyboards, Jeff Estes on bass and Mike Browning on drums and vocals, before the band broke up momentarily.The reformation of Nocturnus is one that meant something.They came back together because they had something to say, not just to follow the trend like so many Heavy Metal bands surfing on the ""back to the 80's"" wave. All of their peers from the technical Death Metal scene of the early 90's bit the dust : Cynic, Pestilence, Atheist... Nocturnus prevailed!This DVD contains three separate live shows, one from each of the bandís extensive tours: ìThe Keyî (1991), ìThresholds (1993) and ìEthereal Tombî (1997). Filmed entirely by the fans, for the fans, this footage makes you feel as if you were in the crowd, witnessing the brutality. These elusive recordings were obtained from the band and are officially endorsed by them. Recorded on American and European soil, these recordings are presented in their original form and in their entirety.This DVD is a rare collection of the bandís live performances, and the footage has never been available anywhere else!
