Seventeen Fall Television Programs Broadcast In Dolby Pro Logic II

Dolby Laboratories announced today that 17 programs are being broadcast this fall in DolbyÆ Pro LogicÆ II on major broadcast and cable networks, providing viewers with a rich, five-channel surround sound experience. Fall TV series airing in Dolby Pro Logic II (where available) include: American Dreams (NBC) Austin City Limits (PBS) Crossing Jordan (NBC) Desperate Housewives (ABC) ER (NBC) Father of the Pride (NBC) Hawaii (NBC) Joey (NBC) Las Vegas (NBC) Law & Order (NBC) Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC) Law & Order: SVU (NBC) LAX (NBC) Monday Night Football (ABC) Monk (USA) NFL on Fox (Fox) Six Feet Under (HBO) ""The growing number of quality programs being mixed with Dolby Pro Logic II is a clear indication that the television industry has embraced our technology and recognizes the importance of delivering to viewers a superior surround sound experience via traditional stereo broadcast services,"" said Tom Daily, Marketing Director, Pro Audio, Dolby Laboratories. Dolby Pro Logic II technology creates a natural and convincing five-channel listening experience from any stereo (two channel) source, such as stereo television programs or CDs. It creates an even richer, more precise surround experience with Dolby Pro Logic II encoded material, such as the fall TV series mentioned above and more than 100 video game titles. All viewers with a Dolby Pro Logic II decoder and a five-speaker surround sound setup will be able to experience full five-channel surround sound. Dolby Pro Logic II decoding technology is now incorporated into tens of millions of units that have been sold worldwide.
