ATC Loudspeaker Technology celebrate their 30th anniversary with a very special edition of their SCM50 ASL loudspeaker, designed to provide a reference standard for all current and future audio formats. This three-way monitor incorporates the latest versions of all three drive units, featuring further developments of ATCís proprietary Super Linear high gauss magnet and Soft Dome technologies, which are responsible for the high power output, low distortion and wide horizontal dispersion of this anniversary speaker. Passive, US$ 25,000 per stereo pair.The ëAnniversary Active 50 Towerí speaker incorporates a new ultra low noise fully discrete version of ATCs grounded source topologyÆ, 350watt three-way amp pack operating in class A up to 2/3rds of output, giving 200 watts to bass driver, 100 watts to mid-range driver, and 50 watts to HF driver. The noise floor of minus 90dB, gives this speaker exceptional dynamic range and is probably the lowest noise level achieved by any domestic loudspeaker in production today.The 30th anniversary tower will be the first version of this exceptional loudspeaker to be produced as a floor standing model. The bass performance of the standard SCM50A is considerably enhanced by an increase of approximately 15% in the internal cube of the tower enclosure. The new ìAnniversary Active 50 Towerî is fully veneered in a honey colored multi-grained American Burr Magnolia, with a rich ëpianoí high gloss finish. This spectacular tree is noted for the rich depth of color and the grain pattern of beautiful swirls and burls. With the veneers taken from close to the root of the tree, the intricate shapes and colorations are unique to each speaker.Removing the dark blue front grille, reveals a titanium finished baffle, and dome wave guide, with this finish also applied to the amp pack on the rear of the speaker. An aeronautical grade of highly polished aluminium is banded below the speaker grille to enhance the appearance.The clear opalescent non-resonant bass plate incorporates optional three point heavy duty polished steel spiked feet for firm coupling to concrete or wooden floors. The supplied matching 1î circular, centered polished steel discs are felt padded, to protect polished floors, where required. Each pair of these remarkable speakers is supplied with a unique ATC embossed real leather wallet, containing an authenticated certificate signed by Billy Woodman.The Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Signature SCM50 ASL ë50í Tower is also available in passive form, without onboard amplification.
