Audiophile Systems, Ltd. (ASL), importers and distributors of Home Entertainment products, announces the introduction of two new Nagra power amplifiers. Building on the technology developed for their MPA amplifier the PMA and PSA amplifiers offer similar performance with enhanced convenience features and lower pricing. As with the MPA, both new amplifiers use Power Factor Corrector (PFC) power supplies to convert AC wall current into pure sine wave power, free of deviations, noise, surges or spikes. In addition to supplying the amplifier stages with the purest, cleanest current possible, PFC enables the use of less filtering and smaller condensers, for higher power and performance in a smaller chassis. Wile the MPA features an elaborate cooling system and obsessively constructed chassis components, the new amplifiers employ cast aluminum bases and a pyramidal shape. Proper cooling is achieved by locating critical electrical components near the outer edges of the PC board, where they can be mounted directly to the base. Nagra has outfitted the PMA and PSA with extra convenience features including signal-sensing auto turn-on and turn-off, user-selectable input sensitivity (1 or 2V for maximum output power) and both XLR and RCA input connectors. The stereophonic PSA delivers 100 WPC into 8 Ohms, while the PMA monoblock is rated at 200 Watts RMS.Nagra PMA and PSA Amplifiers will be shipping in May 2005 at an MSRP of $7,995 for the PSA and $12,995/pair for the PMA.For more information, visit http://www.nagraaudio.com
