Digital Projection Delivers Dynamic Improvement To Contrast Ratio Of Its 3-Chip DLPô Mercury HD Projector

11-Mar-05

Digital Projection International (DPI) announced an improved contrast ratio of its MERCURY HD home entertainment projector. The contrast ratio has been increased nearly fifty-percent, from 2800:1 to 4000:1. ""There is no factor more important to having the ultimate cinema experience at home than picture quality,"" said George Walter, Home Cinema Marketing Manager, Digital Projection, Inc. ""By improving the MERCURY HD's contrast, yet still providing enough brightness for screens up to 15-feet-wide, Digital Projection has set a new benchmark for home entertainment projectors, of any class."" DPI recently announced other upgrades to the MERCURY HD, in addition to higher the contrast, including an ultra-low noise level of less than 35db, which is achieved through a novel approach to chassis cooling. ""We're working as hard today as we did at the genesis of our company in 1989, to advance the capabilities of projection technology,"" added Walter. ""The recent improvements we've made to our MERCURY HD are evidence of the commitment to innovation and world-class visual entertainment that defines our company and the Digital Projection brand."" All current and future shipments of the native 720p MERCURY HD feature the contrast improvement. For more information, visit http://www.digitalprojection.com
