Music Video Distributors and Inakustik are pleased to announce the home viewing release of the New Morning Paris Concert DVD Series for North American distribution on DVD. The series will be released on May 10, 2005 (prebook cutoff April 5) and each DVD will boast a $19.95 retail price. BILLY COBHAM ñ CULTUREMIX: NEW MORNING: THE PARIS CONCERT From 1967 to 1990 the percussionist Billy Cobham, originally from Panama, played with all of the important musicians in the modern jazz scene. Amongst the more significant were: Miles Davis, Horace Silver, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, George Benson and his own bands Spectrum and Stratus. The New Morning - The Paris Concert DVD contains twelve great tracks, where all of the musicians involved show themselves to be fantastic soloists. Bonus material includes a recording of a sound check, where Cobham and his new musical companions obviously had a lot of fun. The packed house experienced Robben Ford in peak form. It was a truly classy performance on the stage that night. Accompanied by Louis Pardini (keyboards), Jimmy Earl (bass) and Brannen Temple (drums) Robben Ford showed every facet of his furious guitar playing. With numbers like ""Start It Up"", ""Moonchild Blues"", ""Deaf, Dumb And Blind"" or ""You Got Me Knockin'"" the virtuoso excelled himself and played blues rock which simply can't be bettered. Four cameras captured the spectacular performance professionally, on digital tape. Sound engineer Bruno Rochet ensured perfect stereo sound in Dolby Digital 5.1. Bonus material includes a 24 minute interview, where Ford talks very candidly about his musical career.
