    Dynaudio Sapphire: Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Loudspeaker Is Near The End Of Its Production Run

    Dynaudio’s jubilee loudspeaker is on pace to be sold out of its limited 1,000 pair world-wide production run by the end of the year 2009 at the latest; the Sapphire is also now available in a new gloss-white finish.

    Danish loudspeaker specialist Dynaudio unveiled a special edition loudspeaker just over a year ago to commemorate the company’s 30th anniversary: the Sapphire. Limited to a global production run of 1,000 pair, the Sapphire has already become a highly demanded collectible. Each pair of Sapphires is ornamented by a corresponding pair/serial number out of 1,000 engraved on a metal plate on the back of the speaker. At the current pace, the last Sapphire designated No. 1000/1000 is expected to be delivered by the end of 2009.
     
    It a special pleasure and sense of pride for Dynaudio to witness the tremendous success of this most special product. In response to the demand of music and hi-fi fans, Dynaudio has decided to offer a new finish for the Sapphire: in addition to the exquisite „Ivory“, „Amber“, „Bordeaux“ and „Mocca“ stained clear-lacquer bird’s eye maple finishes, Dynaudio’s new high-gloss white lacquer finish will also be available on the Sapphire - without any premium.   
     
    The luxurious gloss-white finish of the Dynaudio Sapphire underscores the highly sophisticated, outstanding design of the cabinet. Twelve different surface planes and twenty four tapered edges merge to form a striking outline. This limited jubilee loudspeaker represents 30 years of experience and excellence of “the loudspeaker specialist” and showcases Dynaudio ́s finest technology to deliver music playback as powerfully and dynamically as possible. In completing Sapphire pair “No. 1,000/1,000” at the end of this year, another chapter in hi-fi history will be completed and a another landmark loudspeaker will be added to the legacy of Dynaudio.

    I subscribe to several magazines because each one has a different bias, and they obviously don't always write about the same things. I purchase magazines at the newsstand when a particular article or review interests me enough that it's a keeper. I consider Widescreen Review to have the most professional bias of the home theatre magazines. Whereas something like Sound & Vision, I would consider to be more of a consumer bias. One of the things I like about Widescreen Review is the articles about the industry and technical articles (e.g., room setup). I also like its detailed equipment reviews that tell it like it is. One other item of note would be the DVD reviews. I like the ratings, the short descriptions, and the technical information.
