Dynaudio DM 2/6

By Gary Reber

The new DM 2/6 is the most compact model of the entry level Dynaudio loudspeaker range and is ideal for small to medium sized rooms or any application where space is limited. Its small size allows for easy and discreet placement on a bookshelf or sideboard.

A linear 6 ohm impedance makes the DM 2/6 easy to drive for any amplifier, while excellent sound quality is guaranteed by core Dynaudio technology: a coated soft dome tweeter, 14 cm mid/bass driver with MSP cone, ultra-light aluminum wire voice coils, and a high quality 1st order crossover. Designed with a finely tuned bass reflex system the DM 2/6 exhibits an impressive bass performance for a speaker its size.

The very solid front baffle and the rigid and additionally braced cabinet reduce unwanted resonances, further enhanced by the highly rigid die-cast aluminum basket of the mid/bass driver.

To enable a most cost effective solution, the DM 2/6 is offered in a high quality rosewood or black ash laminate. While the quality of the laminate provides an elegant wood-like finish, it is also very robust and durable to make integration especially easy for custom installations into cabinets or furniture, in-wall
cavities, as well as for multi-room systems or even commercial installations.

At $800 per pair, the DM 2/6 is the most affordable Dynaudio model and a perfect example of a very compact, extremely cost effective and very versatile loudspeaker featuring authentic Dynaudio sound quality.

The DM 2/6 will be officially introduced at the 2010 CES where Dynaudio will be exhibiting in Suite 30-139 of the Veneian.
