Cypress Technology Co. Ltd. Incorporates GEO Semiconductor RealtaTM Platform to Offer Standards Independent Conversion of TV / Video Signals to Exceptional HD Quality via its Instant HQV HDMI 1.3 Video Scaler Box CSO-T2

By Gary Reber

GEO Semiconductor today announced the design-in of its Realta™ Platform into the Instant HQV HDMI 1.3 Video Scaler Box CSO-T2 offered by Cypress Technology Co. Ltd. GEO’s Realta™ Platform enables customers to offer systems that convert Standard Definition (SD) content to full High Definition (HD) along with advanced capabilities such as motion compensated noise reduction and TV standards conversion along with support of all key industry cadence sequences. End customers of these systems enjoy rich, high resolution video content on their display devices, including LCD televisions and home theater projectors. GEO’s RealtaTM Platform is the only chipset platform that allows consumers to achieve full compliance with the “HQV powered by Teranex” industry benchmark.

Designed around the Realta Platform, the Cypress Technology Instant HQV enables users to convert standard definition content (PAL/NTSC) into crisp, detailed and artifact-free HD signals for advanced TV and projector systems offering full HD capabilities.

Commenting on the benefits of the RealtaTM Platform, Frank Chye, Vice President at Cypress Technology Co. Ltd., said, "GEO Semiconductor’s RealtaTM Platform enabled us to develop a product that offers our customers a very sophisticated user experience that maximizes their viewing pleasure. With a broad set of software tools for optimum performance, the Realta Platform allowed us to offer an industry-leading product with great ease.”

"The Instant HQV HD Scaler box allows the end user to maximize the viewing experience of today's High Definition TV with 1080p capabilities," said Madhu Rayabhari, Vice President of Marketing, Business Development and Engineering at GEO Semiconductor. "This product provides end users with such a highly enhanced entertainment platform that it recreates a movie-theater-like viewing experience. The Instant HQV HD Scaler box, which incorporates our Realta™ chipset platform, delivers crisp, stunning and noise-free full HD video by processing video inputs from 480 lines to 1080 lines in both interlaced and progressive formats and converting it into a highly enhanced video stream in 1080p format through the application of industry-leading video processing techniques.”

The Realta Platform from GEO Semiconductor and the Instant HQV HDMI 1.3 Video Scaler Box from Cypress Technology are available now in full production quantities.
