SENCORE Adds Picture-in-Picture and Easy Setup Features To Renowned Radiance Video Processors

By Gary Reber

SENCORE, an engineering leader in high-quality signal transmission, today announced it has added new features to its renowned RadianceXE™ and RadianceXD™ video processors, flexible switching and distribution hubs for high-end audio/video systems that also assure delivery of top quality, distortion-free picture and sound.

New Radiance features include picture-in-picture (PIP), which permits theater viewers to preview video programs and, at the press of a button, swap the inset picture for main video — with no annoying delay. More enhancements include self-configuring of output resolution and HDMI signal type during installation, eliminating the tedious task of determining the best setting for display and for navigating setup menus; and a new point just above black in the multipoint three-dimensional grayscale/gamma calibration that improves color balance at the precise point with the most potential for viewer-detected shift.

In addition, the RadianceXE now provides full support for HDMI 1.3 along with all uncompressed audio formats, and multichannel Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD® Master Audio formats.

"Radiance video processors are known as the best in the industry because they ensure that the high-end A/V system consistently delivers a video experience so good it satisfies even the most discerning viewer," said Tom Stingley, SENCORE executive vice president of sales and marketing. "The addition of customer-friendly features like PIP, easier setup, and even better image quality means the best just got even better."

Based on proprietary advanced digital processing, both SENCORE Radiance video processors feature 18 inputs, including six dedicated HDMI inputs, giving them the ability to route and up-convert everything in an A/V system — from gaming platforms to DVD players — to crystal clear 1080p. Because of continuously synched HDMI inputs, the viewer is able to switch among as many as 18 sources.

Additional features are 10-bit processing, per-pixel SD and HD video de-interlacing with adaptive diagonal filtering, no-ring scaling, MPEG mosquito and block artifact reduction, and 3-D temporal noise reduction.
