2010 Home Theater Cruise™ Sailing On Norwegian Cruise Line’s Epic November 13-20, 2010

Join Us For An Epic Technology Conference At Sea™

By Gary Reber

The Los Angeles Times (January 24, 2010) had this to say about the Epic: “Speaking of cool, Norwegian Cruise Line’s soon-to-be-launched Epic promises an attraction with adults-only appeal, the Ice Bar––a watering hole maintained at a constant 17 degrees, where patrons brave the chill wearing a faux fur coat, gloves and hat. Stand by for the first reported case of frostbite ever reported aboard a cruise ship sailing the Caribbean. Set to debut this spring, the Epic also will feature the line's first water park and the first squash court at sea.

“Entertainment headliners aboard the splashy new ship will include the popular music, comedy, and multimedia theatrical troupe, the Blue Man Group. Meanwhile, at the 280-seat Comedy Club, the famed Second City improv group will stage productions. If all that doesn't float your boat, try the only big top at sea, ‘Cirque Dreams & Dinner,’ featuring high-flying acrobats, jugglers, and baton twirlers to accompany your evening meal.”

This year’s Technology Conference At Sea will be held in the ship’s luxurious 150-seat conference center. The focus will be on dimensional imagery and sonics, with seminar
topics on the ins and outs of optimizing 3-D home entertainment, HDMI v1.4 connectivity, mixing and reproducing aggressive surround sound soundtracks, and guidance on how to address the challenges of the home theatre environment.

The Technology Conference At Sea program will span the three days at sea and present notable home theatre technologists and practitioners in a program of intimate group participation seminars. The seminar program will be announced as it is developed.

For consumer electronics companies, the Home Theater Cruise offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to create sales incentive contests and reward dealers, representatives, and distributors, as well as serve as an exotic getaway for company meetings in conjunction with our group activities.

And because the food and amenities are all inclusive, there is no hassle or added expense associated with conducting business on the ship.

The amenities include world-class acts aboard the Norwegian Epic—the Blue Man Group, Cirque Dreams, Legends in Concert, Howl At The Moon, Second City, and much more, including 20 different dining options, an ice bar, nightclubs, a casino, a world-class health spa and fitness
center, and Aqua Park. Now that’s entertainment! And a good time is assured to be had by all, including family members who come along. There is even a wonderful supervised kids program on the ship. And the conference facilities are fabulous!

All in all, this is an exceptional learning experience, with unique opportunities to network and engage in personal conversation with knowledgeable and experienced experts.
