PRO AUDIO TECHNOLOGY TO INTRO HIGH-OUTPUT MODELS FOR MEDIA-ROOM AND DISTRIBUTED AUDIO AT CEDIA

New in-wall and in-ceiling speakers offer high SPL levels and big dynamics at lower price points

By Gary Reber

Pro Audio Technology (PRO) will demonstrate the distinct performance abilities of its new designer friendly install speaker products in an active theater environment at CEDIA EXPO in Indianapolis, IN at Soundroom 13, September 8-10, 2011.  The new models featured will include the SCRS-25ica compact in-ceiling speaker with angled baffle, SCRS-5iw small profile in-wall loudspeaker,

LFC-14sm and LFC-12im subwoofers along with their full line-up of performance loudspeakers.

Larry Reagan, vice president of PRO states, “We look forward to having attendees hear the new architectural models at CEDIA.  Our signature sound of big dynamics and true-to-life sonic scale are still very much a part of the new designs, in spite of their compact size.”

Text Box: Shown (L-R): LFC-12im. LFC-14sm,
SCRS-5iw (top) and the SCRS-25iw As with all PRO loudspeakers, the

new in-wall and in-ceiling models employ high sensitivity professional grade drivers.  The 5-inch professional woofer provides dynamic low frequency extension and is paired with a ¾-inch compression driver on the company’s proprietary elliptical horn.  The high frequency sensitivity for each model is rated at 110 dB at one watt, with low frequency sensitivity of 91dB in the SCRS-5iw and 96dB in the SCRS-25ica where dual woofers are used.

Each model comes equipped with a passive crossover network allowing the selection of the more economical single amp operation or bi-amp mode when highest performance is desired.  In either mode, DSP optimized performance insures high levels of detail and musical accuracy.

Features include all metal construction, incorporating a welded aluminum back-box and paintable perforated metal grill.  The bezel-less design employs PRO’s proprietary MonoClamp design, minimizing labor by allowing the speakers to be installed in mere seconds with only a Phillips screwdriver.

Equally impressive are the two new subwoofers offered by PRO.  The LFC-12im is a retrofittable in-wall design featuring a 12-inch high power driver with massive 5-inch voice coil and neodymium motor system in an enclosure measuring only 3.5-inches deep.  Designed to fit a 2 x 4 stud bay, the LFC-12im provides exceptional low frequency support for distributed audio applications while its near invisible appearance makes it the perfect mate to the SCRS-5iw and SCRS-25ica.  The LFC-14sm provides a more robust solution for those who desire higher output for music or theater applications but need a small profile sub that can easily be built in or tucked away for minimal visual intrusion.  The LFC-14sm features a 1400 watt long throw 15-inch driver in a compact enclosure measuring only 16” x 16” x 12” deep without the grill.

PRO’s new models bring high-output and big dynamics to a lower price point than previously available, offering exceptional value for media and multi-purpose room installations.   All PRO loudspeakers and subwoofers are DSP optimized via the company’s digital power amplifiers (required).
