Dear Gary:I have a pair of Mirage OM-R2 rear speakers which go down to about 80Hz. I was wondering how deep rear channels are recorded? Would it be worth it to buy a sub for the rear? I was thinking of a Mirage FRX-s8, and would it be a good idea to get two (one for each speaker) or get one and place it in the middle.

Editor Gary Reber Comments:
Yes, deep bass is present below 25Hz in the surrounds on lots of soundtracks. You can search our Web site DVD Movie Guide database at www.WidescreenReview to find which DVDs have deep bass in the surrounds. Two subs are preferable to two, especially since you will be crossing them over at 80Hz, which is still directional.I recommend you read our latest Special Edition: The Essential Subwoofer Buyer’s Guide. It is packed with “How To” information and a complete discography of every DVD with deep bass in the surrounds.
