In regard to the Fantasia 2000 Sneak Peek disc, you failed to mention if there are still 'forced' commercials (trailers, etc.) up front. This is absolutely critical information for me. I will NOT purchase ANY DVD from any Di$ney label until the practice is stopped. This info should be a part of all reviews for any DVD, but is especially relevant for Di$ney.
Story & Special Features Review Editor Laurie Sevano comments:
Thank you for your inquiry as to the presence of those nasty up-front ads on the Fantasia 2000 Showcase Demo. I am happy to report that there are no "previews" prior to the preview! (Please keep in mind that this disc is just a five-minute, not-for-sale-to-consumers preview of the disc to come...can’t say what will happen when the actual product becomes available to consumers in November. Maybe we could start lobbying now!) Let me assure you that every WSR DVD review will specify if there are up-front ads on the disc, so you can be confident that if a review does not mention forced ads, there are none. To make this even easier, we have just added a searchable “yes” “no” field on our Web site called Forced Ads. Simply do a search on “Yes” and you’ll see all the movies to date that include those ads. Thanks again, Dave; I'm pleased that the inclusion of this information is of value to you.PS: Have you communicated your concerns to the home video people over at Buena Vista? Consider doing so...there is power in this type of consumer feedback—or at least we can hope.
