Dear Gary:How many lines of resolution are on an 2.35:1 anamorphic DVD? 480? 360?
Benjamin Ng,
Video Technical Editor Greg Rogers Comments:
A 2.35:1 aspect ratio movie will have 363 scan lines in the active picture area on a 16:9 enhanced (anamorphic) DVD. It will have 33 percent more vertical resolution than it would on a 4:3 letterbox format DVD, where it would only have 272 scan lines in the active picture area.
