Be Cool

Dear Gary:

In Issue 97 (June 2005) of Widescreen Review, it is written that Be Cool was shot in Super 35. But, according to American Cinematographer (March 2005, page 28), “Be Cool was shot in the anamorphic 2.40:1 format.” Who is right then?

DVD Review Senior Editor Suzanne Hodges Comments:

We often use American Cinematographer as a resource when researching how a film was shot. Because of your letter, I placed a phone call to cinematographer Jeffrey Kimball, who confirmed what was printed in Issue 97. Be Cool was shot in Super 35 with Panavision cameras.
