Dear Gary: The following letter was sent to FoxVideo, Miramax and New Line to urge them to release their titles on DVD in the DTS Digital Surround format. Dear Sir or Madam: I am writing you to urge the release of your companies movies on DVD with DTS (Digital Theater Systems) Digital Surround soundtracks. It is my opinion that DTS is audibly superior to Dolby Digital, and that releasing your films with the DTS format day/date with the Dolby version as well as the videotape version would best serve your interests. Many consumers including myself would purchase your films on DVD with a DTS soundtrack in place of the Dolby Digital version. I also urge you to fully support the “Open” DVD format, and discontinue releasing movies on Divx DVD. If that is not possible, then please consider releasing your movies on “Open” DVD day/date with Divx DVD and videocassette. Thank you for your time.

Editor Gary Reber Comments:
I hope your letter will encourage others to write similar letters to the studios asking them to support DTS Digital Surround soundtracks on their DVD titles. Studios offering both DTS Digital Surround and Dolby Digital soundtracks would further give enthusiasts a choice as to soundtrack experience.
