Dear Gary:
Let me start by saying, thank you for producing an informative and interesting publication. In the recent Issue 142 there is an article written by Dr. Raymond Soneira on a shootout between LCD and plasma technology. I would like to thank him for taking the time to perform such a thorough review and comparison between the two technologies.
I have noticed what Dr. Soneira writes in his article about off-angle color shift and luminance changes as well. This weakness of LCD seems to become more apparent after taking the display out of the showroom modes and performing a calibration. I feel any person looking for a flat panel display should read Dr. Soneira's article.
I feel this testing and information is too important to a first-time flat panel buyer or one trying to decide between LCD/ plasma. Let’s face it, most stores will try and convince a buyer that the display they need to buy is one they need to move from stock. More and more consumers need to be exposed to articles like this to have a better knowledge of what best fits their environment.
