Non-Widescreen Movies

Dear Gary: I love your magazine and just subscribed to it. The only problem I have with your magazine is that you choose to ignore all DVDs that aren’t widescreen. With so many IMAX titles being released though Image Entertainment and Sling Shot Video it is a shame that you give them no time or space in your magazine. Super Speedway and Thrill Ride are two of my favorite discs that I own. Slingshot Video and other companies are releasing more and more IMAX films on DVD everyday. I would love to know what the quality is like on all these IMAX titles but unfortunately there is no other magazine with such wonderful in-depth detailed reviews of both the picture and sound. Why not put another section in after the regular widescreen reviews called “Full Frame” or “Non Widescreen” films? I am sure others would benefit from non-widescreen films being reviewed as well. Keep up the good work.

Editor-Gary Reber Comments:

Thank you for the allocades. Unfortunately, the print edition of the magazine financially cannot support any more pages than we are currently publishing. Our priority mission is to review every widescreen format DVD release. That alone is becoming an increasing challenge with so many new DVD releases in the widescreen format. We are, however, preparing to provide our readers with a comprehensive interactive database of non-widescreen DVD titles to be found in the future on our Web site at www.Widescreen Review.com.
