DVD taken off release schedule - date is now TBD.
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a lovely black-and-white picture that is nicely contrasted with a pleasing gray scale. Images are sharp and nicely detailed, though some smearing is noticed. Picky viewers may notice edge enhancement and the minor loss of fine details (like pinstripes on a shirt and siding on buildings) noticed during slow camera pans. Otherwise, the picture is quite clean, with only a few flecks of dust noticed in the source element. (Suzanne Hodges)
