Subscribe Free"A Perfect World" has Clint Eastwood directing Kevin Costner in his first bad (but nice) guy role: that of escaped prisoner Butch Haynes. Texas Ranger Red Garnett (Eastwood) leads the manhunt for Butch, a fellow escapee, and the young fatherless boy (played superbly by T.J. Lowther) they have kidnapped. The story covers the changes in the relationship between Butch and his young hostage, who develop a bond, with the young boy finding solace and friendship in their journey across Texas. The profoundly moving story culminates in a gripping final showdown, where Garnett and Butch finally meet after a statewide police pursuit. (Gary Reber)
