  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
"Punch-Drunk Love" is a dark, but unique romantic comedy from the creative mind of writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson ("Hard Eight," "Boogie Nights," "Magnolia"). Barry Egan (Sandler in a reserved role) is a socially inept worker with a great deal of repressed anger resulting in occasional violent outrages. Sure to set Barry off is an extortion scam after he makes a call to a phone sex line. But after meeting Lena Leonard (Watson), a co-worker of one of Barry

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced Superbit 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a stylized picture that can be very soft, with settings that can be quite dim with slightly low contrast, or others that are overly bright, with blown-out whites. Colors are bold, especially Sandler
