But after meeting Maggie (Green), he suddenly realizes that there's much more to school than studying. After joining the cheerleading squad Maggie falls for football hero Cappie (Sheen) so Lucas, anxious to impress her, decides to join the team, too. In way over his head Lucas is seriously injured during a game and is sent to the hospital, but when he returns to school he discovers what it means to be part of a team and what true friendship is all about.
