  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
"The Official Selections" brings to DVD seven of some of the best short films (some of which are award winners) from past Sundance Film Festivals. Four of the seven are presented in widescreen and are reviewed here. Verne Troyer (Austin Powers

DVD Picture:
The four widescreen short films available on this DVD are not anamorphically enhanced, and are presented in their variable widescreen aspect ratios. Image quality varies from generally satisfying to rather poor. All of these short films are much better suited for smaller home theatre displays, and are not meant to be used for quality demonstrations. Various source element artifacts are noticed throughout. While edge enhancement is not an issue with this DVD, there is some pixel breakup detected. (Suzanne Hodges)
