  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
In Tokyo Godfathers it's snowing in the city and freezing cold. While digging through the trash on Christmas Eve, three homeless people come across a crying infant and decide to take her with them for safe-keeping. Determined to find her parents, they do what they can for the little girl and search the city high and low to save her. (Tricia Littrell)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture presents the intriguing anime images with excellent color fidelity. While reds can be rich and powerful, the snow-filled locations are depicted with an understated color scheme and eerie realism. Still the darkest scenes require that this DVD be viewed in a completely blackened viewing environment. There are no annoying edge halos and only occasionally does the picture appear to have some minor detail breakup. Overall, this is a pleasing and engulfing animated picture. (Suzanne Hodges)
