  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, or here, or here. She has hit the road in search of her destiny as a singer. But destiny seems to be in the form of a waitress in a diner, not as a star on stage. With happiness always seeming to be just out of reach, Alice wonders if she should take a chance with David (Kristofferson), a kind man she meets in the diner. This was this inspiration for the Alice television series. (Tricia Littrell)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced DVD picture opens with full frame images, but converts to a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The picture certainly exhibits dated characteristics, especially with the color scheme. Fleshtones tend to appear a bit brownish, but the glaring 1970s hues (reddish-oranges, wheat yellows, avocado greens) are often richly saturated. Images often have a hazy appearance, with blown-out light coming through windows, soft details, and limited textures. The source element is mostly clean, with only occasional film grain and dirt evident in the picture. While edge enhancement is not much of a problem, some pixel breakup is noticed. (Suzanne Hodges)
