    Story Synopsis:
    Sit down with Martin Scorsese for his documentary My Voyage To Italy (Il Mio Viaggio In Italia) which takes an intimate look at the Italian movies that sparked a passion in this acclaimed filmmaker. If you enjoyed A Personal Journey With Martin Scorsese Through American Movies, or if you are a rookie when it comes to international epics, you will love Scorsese

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 (though much of the program is windowboxed 1.33:1) DVD picture is mostly presented in black-and-white, and offers satisfying gray scale balance. The color segments (like the Roy Rogers clips and the featured 1954 movie Senso) often appear dated and undersaturated. Images are satisfying in terms of sharpness, though there is inherent softness in some of the film clips. With the bulk of the footage being sourced from classic movies, there are many source element artifacts like scratches and dirt (some appearing more obtrusive than others). Edge enhancement and pixelization are not huge distractions, but both are noticed at times. (Suzanne Hodges)

    In addition to Widescreen Review, I subscribe to several audio/video publications, such as Sound And Vision, Stereophile, Stereophile Guide To Home Theater, Audio Video Interiors, and peruse through the myriad of British audio video publications when I go to Borders, Barnes & Nobles, or Tower Records. I must acknowledge that Widescreen Review is one of the better ones because it is more like a trade publication than a magazine full of advertisements. Moreover, Widescreen Review was one of the first publications to delve into DVI and more importantly, HMDI, which I deem important because it can make a lot of the current products out there obsolete. Put simply, Widescreen Review is The New York Times of audio/video publication. In other words, if you want real news, you read The New York Times. To stay on top of what’s happening in the audio/video industry, you read Widescreen Review. Enough said.
