  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Ex-con Sailor (Cage) and rich-girl Lula (Dern) are two young adults who are Wild At Heart, much to the dismay of Lula's mama Marietta (Ladd). No matter how many times Marietta tries to have Sailor eliminated, he keeps on coming back to Lula. So they finally make a desperate bid for happiness and hit the road, but their journey plunges them into a disturbing world filled with sexual secrets and dangerous desires. Based upon the novel by Barry Gifford. (Suzanne Hodges)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits stylized images that are visually complementary to the hallucinatory tale. Colors are well-saturated, with natural fleshtones, rich hues, and deep blacks. While images can be very nicely textured, much of the movie has a soft glow. Contrast and shadow delineation are satisfactory throughout. While edge enhancement is rarely a problem with this picture, there is occasional pixel breakup. Fans of David Lynch
