So, no one is more surprised than him when his dad (Falk) shows up unannounced with news that Ben's mother (Dukakis) has left him with nothing more than a note left on the refrigerator. Not knowing what to do with dear old dad, Ben invites him to accompany him on a trip upstate to look at some property.
