Subscribe FreeDisillusioned with life in Los Angeles, writer Owen McCabe (Schneider) decides it's time to leave the city after his ex-girlfriend splits up with him yet again, once and for all. Owen says goodbye to his support group and his friends in a not-so-nice brutally-honest way and leaves for the airport. While waiting for his flight to Breighton, where he's headed to write a Nobel prize-winning physicist's bio, Owen runs into Val (Westfeldt), a friend of his ex, who has also just been dumped. The two seem to hit it off, so Owen skips the flight and decides that even though he's burned his bridges with everyone he knows and definitely knows "How To Lose Your Lover," he may as well stick around and see if Val is the right one for him.
