  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Born in the backseat of a speeding car, Ricky Bobby (Ferrell) was destined to drive fast...and drive fast he does. So fast, in fact, he is the much-beloved speed demon of NASCAR, complete with the blonde trophy wife (Bibb), a handsome (and a handful) pair of sons, and a to-die-for mansion. Oh, he is living the life, until Jean Girard (Cohen), a flamboyant European racer, lays down a huge speed bump in Ricky's perfect life. Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby was given a thumbs-up by guest critic, Jay Leno, on Ebert & Roeper. (Jack Kelley)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD picture can look very good, with bright, vibrant colors, deep blacks, and well-resolved details, though fleshtones can be a little too red. There are also moments when details can be almost completely lost, with the image looking blurry and out of focus. It is a disappointment that the picture is not more consistent, because in its best moments, it can look good. (Danny Richelieu)
