  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
It is said that whoever drinks the sap from the Tree of Life will live forever. The Fountain takes place in the past, the present, and the future

DVD Picture:
Black levels are slightly milky in the anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD, which is a disappointment considering how many dark scenes are in this movie. Details are captured well, but fine textures are not resolved as well as they could be in many scenes. Contrast is slightly off, with whites that bloom, and the color scheme is dependent on yellows and browns. Edge enhancement can be noticed, and some pixel breakup can be seen at times.
