Edina Monsoon (Saunders) and Patsy Stone (Lumley) are two worn-out fashionistas who endlessly indulge in cosmetic surgery, alcohol, drugs, sex, shopping sprees, and trips abroad. In this special of the long-running British comedy, Eddy (short for Edina) gets bitten by the redecorating bug and decides a new kitchen is in order. When she hires two avant-guard designers to help redecorate, she ends up with an Absolutely Fabulous: White Box instead of a new kitchen. Eddy
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD is very soft, with fine details looking blurred and unrecognizable. Blacks are somewhat milky looking and shadow delineation is generally poor. Fleshtones have a pallid hue, and the entire image has a somewhat washed-out look. Compression artifacts are not noticeable and edge enhancement is not a problem. (Danny Richelieu)
Reason #62 Why Readers Love Widescreen Review:
Widescreen Review is the only place to go for no-nonsense evaluations of the audio and video qualities of a DVD before you drop your hard-earned cash for it. In an industry where the subjective is usually described in the most arcane manner possible (to the exclusion of the unwashed masses), WSR's clear and objective-as-you-can-get reviews give me the information I need to make purchasing decisions confidently.
