The 1.82:1 DVD is not anamorphically enhanced. The transfer is sourced from a print, with images rather soft in appearance, even the opening titles. The picture has a pasty, unnatural quality with colors that appear washed out in the brighter scenes. Yellow is a prominent hue in fleshtone rendering. Clarity is wanting, as colors tend to bleed. Film grain is revealed, but artifacts and aliasing problems can be distracting. Even though the picture is nothing impressive, the special features make it a fun DVD to own.
I like the reviews and the number rating system you use. Usually your reviews are right on key with how I see the disc also. The magazine also caries useful information about Digital Video Essentials, which I also own, and use often.
