  WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based on the novel

DVD Picture:
Compared to the LaserDisc reviewed in Issue 9, the anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture exhibits dramatic improvements in contrast for a more detailed picture. Color fidelity is excellent and fleshtones are naturally rendered. Images are quite sharp throughout, with fine detail nicely rendered. Film grain is detected in some scenes, but source element artifacts are minor. Minor pixelization is apparent, and there is occasional edge enhancement. For those who have seen the LaserDisc, the more refined quality of the DVD should surely please. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
