The 1.78:1 DVD is not anamorphically enhanced but exhibits good quality and should surely please fans of opera. Colors are rich and well balanced, especially the scarlet set and costumes. Blacks are deep and solid. Images are generally sharp, but shots of the full stage are slightly smeared. Overall, the picture is satisfying. (Suzanne Hodges)
Reason #50 Why Readers Love Widescreen Review:
Your magazine was the only one available to me that not only provided forward-looking articles (such as reports on the development of the HDTV standard), but also provided information on equipment and offered the only reviews I could find on Laser Discs. Thanks to your publication, most of my video library is letterboxed. I am now prepared for my dream HDTV. Thanks for the information that allows me to prepare for the future!
