    Story Synopsis:
    The Orchestra And Chorus Of English National Opera as conducted by Nicholas Kok, bring to life Henry Purcell

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.75:1 DVD picture exhibits a stage performance that is visually pleasing throughout. Images are sharp, with nicely rendered detail in the close-up shots. Shots of the full stage look quite natural. Colors are rich and well balanced, with accurate fleshtones. The costumes and stage props exhibit bold hues. Blacks appear generally deep. Rarely do fine details shimmer. Some edge enhancement is apparent, but overall, the performance should surely please fans of the stage. (Suzanne Hodges)
