Want more deliciously scary tales, with just a death-grip
The anamorphically enhanced 1.80:1 DVD picture exhibits interesting visuals in both animation and live action. Overall, the picture can be generally detailed, though some scenes are very soft in appearance. Contrast and shadow delineation are satisfying. The animation is nicely rendered, with rich, well balanced colors. Hues are also nicely rendered in the live action scenes. The source element is revealing of dirt and artifacts, but overall the picture should be generally pleasing at best, despite the overall soft character. (Suzanne Hodges)
