Story Synopsis:
Vietnam veteran Cameron (Railsback) is on the run from the police when he stumbles onto the set of a war movie directed by megalomaniac Eli Cross (O

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits images that are quite sharp and nicely detailed, though images have a dated quality. Still, there are some scenes that are soft and hazy. Colors are nicely rendered, with accurate fleshtones, and deep blacks. There are a few aliasing problems noticed, but distractions like edge enhancement and pixelization are not too much of a problem for this DVD. The source element is revealing of a considerable amount of film grain, dirt, and artifacts. (Suzanne Hodges)

DVD-ROM Review:
After searching around The Stunt Man's disc, you can find the DVD-ROM components all wrapped up into an HTML file. From this page, you are given links titled Screenplay Viewer, Structural Notes, and Screenplay Notes. Each of these are created using Adobe's Acrobat software, so you must have Adobe's Acrobat viewer installed on your computer. This is a free application, and can be downloaded from www.adobe.com. The Screenplay Viewer looks exactly like a production script, complete down to the typewriter typeface. This 153 page document can be printed or viewed directly from you monitor. Throughout the script, there are notes for the director, which are documented in the Screenplay Notes section. This PDF file is found by clicking the link labeled Screenplay Notes, and is a great accompaniment to the Screenplay. Viewing the Structural Notes will allow you to see into the head of the writer who adapted this film from the Brodeur novel. This section is very interesting, and is a great way to get a little more insight into the film. This title may lack a bit in quantity, but it more than makes up in quality. The screenplay with its accompanied notes are great features that should not be passed up by anyone interested in the movie making process. I wholeheartedly encourage all who have a chance to view The Stunt Man's DVD-ROM features do so. (Danny Richelieu)
