DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture has a dated appearance, but otherwise is very nicely rendered. Colors are rich, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. The red walls in Chapter 11 are bold and solid, with little bleeding or smearing. Images are generally sharp, but detail can be lacking at times. The source element is revealing of occasional artifacts and film grain, but is otherwise clean. There is some noticeable edge enhancement, but nothing too distracting. (Suzanne Hodges)
